I offer consultancy on a range of IT issues, primarily centered around infrastructure, security, and general technology support. Below is an overview of the areas I specialize in:

Specialist Areas

  • Infrastructure Engineering: Virtualisation (VMware, Citrix), server management, network troubleshooting, cloud resource scaling and cost optimization.
  • IT Security Consultation: Reviewing current security posture, advising on best practices (e.g., password policies, multi-factor authentication implementation), endpoint protection, and compliance readiness.
  • End-User Computing (EUC) Optimisation: Standardizing desktop images, deploying application packages, hardware and peripheral troubleshooting, and improving overall user experience.
  • Automation & Scripting: Developing Bash, PowerShell, and Python scripts to automate repetitive tasks, improving efficiency and reducing human error.

Personal Technology Services

I also provide training and consulting services to non-IT professionals who need to get on top of their personal and business technology needs from setting up laptops, configuring email and managing social media accounts.

I have found that an hour or two dedicated to maintaining your computer; cleaning up storage and deleting unnecessary files, managing emails and configuring rules and also having a robust and simple backup procedure can work wonders both in personal and professional life.

Service Offerings

1-on-1 Support Sessions

A typical support session can be as short as 1 hour up to 4 hours and can cover as many of the below topics as time allows. I am happy to also provide a summary of the work we have done. You'll also receive an invoice for the sessions provided payable within 30 days of issue.

Bespoke Training Guides

Training guides can be provided upon request on any of the topics that one has been consulted on, these will be billed via invoice as well with the guides being tailored to the customer's specific needs. These can be emailed, sent via whatsapp and will normally be in PDF format.

Remote Support Sessions

Further support can be provided remotely, over the phone or via Whatsapp to assist on any queries that come up between sessions. These can be completely new requests, incidents or problems or can be a follow-up from our consultancy sessions. These will also be billed via invoice for a minimum of 30 mins of support.

Group Training Sessions

Group training sessions can be organised upon request for customers who have very similar issues who may want to split the costs for the time it takes to get these issues resolved. These can be a minimum of two hours and a maximum of six depending on the weight and breadth of the issues. The summary will be sent to all participants along with the invoices.

  • Transferring essential data from old devices to new ones (including contacts, photos, notes, passwords)
  • Set up Android devices and configure system updates, app downloads (Google Play Store)
  • Sync iPhones and ensure iCloud is set up correctly
  • Sync calendar and reminders across all devices
  • Ensuring AirDrop, Bluetooth, and file sharing are working
  • Set up or verify Find My iPhone with laptop for tracking and security

Laptop & PC Setup

  • Wipe & clean old laptops (factory reset, securely erase drives, remove accounts)
  • How to use basic troubleshooting: restarting, force quitting apps, checking storage
  • Review notification settings — get alerts for what matters, silence what doesn't
  • Keyboard shortcuts and desktop tools that can save you time
  • Confirm video playback and microphone/speaker functionality for Zoom and Teams

File & Storage Management

  • Understanding file formats, file extensions and folder naming conventions
  • Review current storage use, establishing clean-up actions to sanitise storage
  • Organise local files and folders, establish best practices so you don't lose track
  • Setting up storage alerts to prevent performance degradation
  • Set up backup solutions (iCloud, Google Drive, or external drives)

Email & Communication

  • Add all email accounts to laptop and phone
  • Organise inboxes with folders or labels
  • Set up rules to automated email management
  • Set up filters for newsletters, promotions, etc.
  • Ensure that Mail syncs across devices
  • Help you use voice dictation or templates if needed

Media & Content Creation

  • Help making screen recordings or taking good screenshots
  • Edit, trim, and share Zoom, Teams and other meeting recordings
  • Editing images for online profiles such as LinkedIn, Instagram using Canva etc
  • Organise video files: where they are stored, how to back them up
  • Help with video editing apps and features such as subtitling
  • Basics of file compression and file format conversion

Social Media & Apps

  • Set default browsers across devices and manage bookmarks for frequently visited sites
  • Set up YouTube, Instagram, Faceboook, LinkedIn and other social apps for uploading content
  • Help with scheduling posts or using Instagram Stories, Meta Business Manager etc
  • Sync your social apps and accounts across devices (logins, 2FA)
  • Install essential productivity apps: Word, Zoom, WhatsApp Desktop, Canva, etc.
  • Set up Copilot in Windows 11 (and clarify what it can do for you daily)

Connectivity & Network

  • Run WiFi diagnostics & check speed, range, and performance
  • Help solve WiFi cold spots & may involve mesh routers or extenders
  • Set up guest WiFi access if needed
  • Secure network with strong passwords
  • Configure browsers to prevent ads, tracking and potential compromise
  • Set up VPN services to keep browsing private

Security & Maintenance

  • Check and confirm AV software is functional
  • Install and/or run a malware/virus scans
  • Check privacy and app permissions
  • Ensure 2FA is configured for primary accounts
  • Help with password manager setup or review saved passwords
  • Explain any suspicious pop-ups or messages you've seen recently
